YUVAN SHANKAR RAJA'S 100th MOVIE - BIRIYANI MUSIC REVIEW

Yuvan Shankar Raja ,famous Music Composer is being blessed to be born to a Music Legend Isaignani Ilayaraja.He got interested to Music since from his childhood.His first movie as a composer was sarathkumar starrer Aravindhan.It gave him a good impression but his major turning point was the movie Surya and Jyothika starrer 'Poovellam Kettupaar',Directed by Vasanth.This was indeed the first movie of Jyothika as Heroine in Tamil.All the songs in this movie became so popular and Yuvan started getting more and more offers and gave many hit numbers.

                  Yuvan composed for Actor Dhanush's debut Movie Thulluvadho Illamai directed by his father Kasthuri Raja .His music played the major part for the movie's success and he also experimented his own music genre in this movie which he follows till now.Then came the major break ,Kadhal Konden.Kasthuri Raja's Son and Dhanush's elder brother Selvaraghavan directed this movie.Yuvan composed mesmerizing numbers and One cannot forget the song Devadayai Kanden sung by Harish Ragavendra.This movie was a trend setter and it paved the strong path to both Dhanush and Selvaraghavan , which was not at all possible without Yuvan;s Music.His background score was remarkable and its popular till now.Other songs in this movie are Thottu Thottu pogum Thendral,Nenjoduka lanhidu,Idhu porkalama.                    

Yuvan emerged as one of the top composers after Kadhal Konden and his songs are mindblowing and trendy,which played a major role for movies success.Yuvan and Selvaraghavan combo became so noted and they again came up with 7g Rainbow Colony.Vow...How can we forget the song Ninaithu Ninaithu Parthal ....This movie became youths favourite and yuvan flew to great heights.He joined hands with Director Ameer right from his First movie Mounam peiyadhe.He made Ram and Paruthi Veeran became so notable and it also prooved yuvan's folk and native genres.Yuvan also started singing his own compositions and such songs became so popular and he also got his unique way of singing and pronouncing words.His emotions are heart touching.En Kadha solla neranillai from paiyaa is my choice.Movie Paiyaa Directed by Lingusamy got very good songs from Yuvan and all are withstanding till now.The movie Billa 's theme Music got a lot to speak about.Yuvan became a stylish composer in terms of Music.

Yuvan's cousin brother and Gangai Amaran's son Venkat Prabhu became a Director and his combo with yuvan gave us many beautiful songs.Right from Chennai 28,they did Saroja,Goa,Mankatha and now they came up with Biriyani ,Yuvan's 100 th Film.Grt going..Songs are asusual Hit Numbers and according to me highlight will be the song Edhirthu Nil perfomed by 5 Music Composers starting from D.Imman,Vijay Antony,Thaman,G.V.Prakash and Yuvan himself.Nananah..is also good.Pom Pom penne and Misisipie by Karthik and Priya Hemesh also sounds good.Being Isaignani's son is also difficult at times because he has achieved a lot in this field.But Yuvan got his own style very different from his father's and he also prooved in it.He made his father proud and I wish him good luck in his future projects too and move on with 200th,300th film...

T.M.SOUNDARARAJAN - MAN WITH A METALLIC VOICE

Thuguluva Meenatchi Iyengar Sounderarajan (March 24, 1922 - May 25, 2013) was a Playback Singer  in theTamil Film Industry for over six decades. T. M. Soundararajan was born in a Sourashtra community inMadurai.He had been training his voice since he was 7 years old. He first studied carnatic music from Chinnakonda Sarangapani Bhagavathar, a music teacher from Sourashtra High School, Madurai. Later, he learnt carnatic music from Arayakkudi Rajamani Iyengar and started giving stage concerts at the age of 23.He gave his voice to a galaxy of actors and thespians in the South Indian film industry ,Most prominent among them are M.G.Ramachandran and Sivaji Ganesan,the two Ikons of Tamil Cinema .He is popularly known as TMS.He has sung over 10000 film songs and 3000 devotional songs.
     His voice was initially rejected.He used to follow the footsteps of M.K.Thyagaraja Bagavathar.  In 1946, S.M.Subbiah Naidu gave TMS an opportunity to sing five songs in the style of M. K. Thyagaraja Bhagavathar for the film  Krishna Vijayam. Though the songs were noted since 1946, the film was released only in 1950. One of his songs in  that movie, "Raathey Ennai Vittu Odathedi" became a hit.  In 1954,Maruthakasi recommended TMS to sing in Aruna Pictures Thooku Thookki.

Till then C.S.Jeyaraman used to sing playback for Sivaji Ganesan and Sivaji doubted the suitability of his voice. But TMS offered to sing three songs free. TMS and Sivaji Ganesan were introduced to each other and in the short conversation that followed TMS studied the voice of Sivaji Ganesan. TMS sang "Sundari Soundari" and "Eratha Malaithaniley", closely imitating the voice of Sivaji Ganesan. G.Ramanathan who was the music director for that film was so pleased that he gave TMS the chance to sing all the songs for Sivaji Ganesan in that production. All the songs went on to become great hits launching TMS to stardom. Anybody watching Sivaji's songs will surely feel that he himself is singing the song.T.M.S 's voice suited him in that way.

    

He got a hance to sing the song "Konjum Kiliyana Pennai" in the movie Koondukilli,the only movie in which MGR and Sivaji Ganesan acted together.MGR heard the song and was so impressed that he want TMS to sing for him in his next movie Malaikallan.Then came the famous song,First song TMS sang for MGR 'Ethanai Kaalam Than' .Then there is no looking back for him.
        He is a role model for each and every singer in India.His Tamil pronounciation and Expressions are unbeatable that no one ever and never can beat him.  Legendary north Indian playback singer Mohd Rafi was an ardent fan of TMS. When TMS sang the song "Orayiram Parvalyile" from the film "Vallabhnukku Vallabhan" in a stage show at Bombay,Mohd Rafi embraced TMS and commented:-"You born for singing,your expression and feelings in the song is very effective". Mohd Rafi sang the Hindi version of that song "Sauw Bharu Zanam Denghe" in the film "Ustadonghe Ustad".Indian Government honoured him with PadmaShri in the year 2013.HE LIVES IN OUR HEART,FOREVER....

Practice for atleast 2 TO 3 HOURS daily(Minimum).Because practice alone bring perfection.
Practice in your comfortable Shruthi.
Drink lot of water in general and especially during your practice session as it will prevent throat dryness.
You should have Sruthi box or Tambura at home to practice.
Try to sink with the music notes as much as possible.
Open your mouth and practice in your chest voice.
Hear lot of music.Listen to all genres.
Practce with lot of concentration & sincerity.
Avoid talking too much as it will drain yor throat and affect your voice quality.

THIRUPPUGAZH - TAMIL MANTHRA

                               Thiruppugazh ( "Glory to the Lord" or "Divine glory") is a 15th century anthology of Tamil religious songs dedicated to Murugan, the son of Shiva, written by the poet-saint Arunagirinathar. The anthology is considered one of the central works of mediaeval Tamil literature, both for its poetical and musical qualities, and for its religious, moral and philosophical content.Arunagirinathar was one of the first poet to set all his compositions to reverberating music in the style of "Santham".Music is divine.Music is the language of God. Thiruppugazh, which is a set of prayers, is addressed to the Lord in musical verses. GUNA - TAMIL MOVIE TO BE REMEMBERED

Yesterday Kamal Haasan's worthy movie Guna was featured in one of the Tamil Channels.Already watched this movie so many times!Didn't missed it yesterday.What a movie!But it was very bad that such movies didn't go to the hit list.What an effort by Kamal Haasan!He is always experementing with movies like Mahanadhi,Guna and the list goes on till Viswaroopam to be released soon.His movies in this genre doesn't get enough recognition from the public.People won't see Virumandi but they will support Paruthi Veeran.What a pity!

Music score of this movie by Isaignani Ilayaraja is mindblowing!Partha vizhi partha badi rendered by Shri K.J.yesudoss in his golden voice & May of us's favourite song Kanmani Anbodu Kadhalan Naan ezhudhum Kadhitham,letter...whatever it is..Song Sitiuation that never happened in Tamil cINEMA BEFORE NOR AFTER.When speaking abt this song,I need to remember my friend,who is now no more.He is Ilayaraja's elder brother Pavalar Varadharaajan's son,Ilayagangai.He is also a composer cum singer.His voice will be very much similar to Ilayaraja Sir's voice.He used to perform this song in our ORCHESTRA ,imitating Kamal Haasan's voice.It'll be very interesting & entertaining.Many used to make hillarious abt the lines 'Manidhar unarndhu kolla idhu manidhar kadhal alla"Yes,this movie is also like that.A Special intellectual is needed to understand the character and this movie GUNA!Our viewers are not much matured to understand this movie even now!

Padmashree Dr.S.P.B was awarded the prestigious SEVALIAR SIVAJI GANESAN Award

http://dhivyarajashruthi.in-Legendry Playback Singer Padmashree Dr.S.P.Balasubramaniam received Sevaliar Sivaji Ganesan Award at Vijay Awards 2011.It was a great event indeed.As we all know Vijay TV = TO SUCCESS.They know how to make a show success.VIJAY AWARDS also goes in the same way.Every year a Legend from Tamil Film Industry will be awarded the Sevaliar Sivaji Ganesan Award.Last year it was given to Dance Master Sundharam.[Prabhudeva's Father].This year this award goes to Padmashree S.P.B.He also received THE BEST PLAYBACK SINGER - MALE this year along with his son S.P.B.Charan for the song AYYAYO NENJU from Aadukalam.
                                      It was a very rare scene,Father & son receiving award for the same song.It was really a pleasure seeing both of them together in stage.Charan looked very slim,don't know how.S.P.B when asked about the song said " I don't know why & when charan sang the song"Then the reason was asked to the composer G.V.Prakash,who was watching the show along with his friends Dhanush,Vetrimaaran etc.G.V said that after S.P.B Sir left out singing the song,it was thought that DT wil be better for this song.DT means Double Track in which two voice tracks will be mixed together.So they decided to call S.P.B.Charan.His voice can be merged well with his fathers voice.He also sang the song so well matching S.P.B's feel & touches.That's how this song was born.
                                      Then in the same event another award to S.P.B.That is SEVALIAR SIVAJI GANESAN AWARD.MAESTRO A.R.Rehman & PADMASHREE KAMAL HAASAN was asked to give away this award.Of course Kamalji & S.P.B are great friends.Isai puyal was very humble as always.He was asked his favourite song of S.P.B which he would like to hear now.A.R.Rehman said Anjali anjali and atonce S.P.B sang that song in his ever golden voice.S.P.B dedicated the song Teri mere Beech main to his friend Kamal Haasan.S.P.B,what to say more about him.THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE S.P.B.NO BODY CAN MATCH HIS RECORDS.His songs are everlasting.As an Orchestra in our 25 years of experience ,there cannot be a single show without his songs.Most propable songs are Ilaya nila,Sangeedha Megam,Ilamai yenum Poonkatru and it goes on.Isaignani Ilayaraja + S.P.B = Memorable Melodies.

     It was a grt day indeed.Our show became a great hit and everybody enjoyed it very much.They preferred fast beat songs & new songs.We blended it with some classic old songs and there can never be a show without Isaignani's songs.Highlight of the day is the grand dance session in which the whole family members including the bride and the bridegroom danced for the songs Kalasala & Vena Machan Venaam from O.K.O.K.We too enjoyed it very much.Everyone appreciated our performance and Mr.Jeyachandran Aadhithan,bridegroom's father,who booked us was really happy & satisfied.It was a happy day for all of us!
